Having met my defeat at Red Dog Saloon, I decided to find a more easier challenge – and ended up at Tinsletown, Ealing Broadway.
I went with my best friend again, and our friend Ricky too.
Tinsletown is an american diner, offering burgers, cheesy chips, smoothies and great desserts.
It has an almost ‘Hollywood’ atmosphere, with pictures of celebrities on the wall, the word Tinsletown sprawled across the walls and what appeared to a poster of young girls screaming for my autograph.
Straight to the meal, we all ordered the ‘Empire State Challenge Burger’
The menu states that the challenge consists of: 20oz (4xburgers) of homemade 100% beef stacked with 3 slices of Swiss Cheese, gherkins and Smokey BBQ Sauce.
Not to mention two additional sides – I opted for a salad and cheesy chips.
Sadly unlike the hot wings challenge there wasn’t any incentive for winning, you foot the bill anyway. And, as you can guess – no t-shirt prize.
Honestly, when i saw my burger, I was a bit taken back by the size of it. literally the size of my face – how the hell was I supposed to eat that!
I cut my burger into four parts and ate at it,like a standard burger, it was nice whilst it was warm from the grill – but slowly as the meat became cold it became tougher and harder to chew and swallow.
As expected, I was the s–l–o–w–e–s–t to eat and finish my burger. I had to change tactics and eat it patty by patty as advised by Ricky.
The challenge wasn’t difficult for the two boys..
But for me it was a bit difficult. Considering I am a much slower eater, it took me longer to finish, and it got colder quicker.
For dessert we had this beaut.
Surely you have now come to realise that I have a simple weakness for chocolate and anything chocolate.
