Mindset Reshift

The UK has been in lockdown for just over eight weeks and it has definitely given me the opportunity to pause for a moment and take a break from the busy and fast-paced life I live. I mean, when was the last time we really had ‘nothing’ to do? This really isn’t something I welcomed with open-arms, I insanely made sure that I was being productive around the clock from pre-work running, post-work workouts, blogging, cleaning my room etc. I even refreshed my First Aid training online! Then suddenly I reached my point of exhaustion with a 6 day tension… View Post

Why Having a Circle is Important

One thing that I had taken from my counselling sessions two years ago was that it is really important to have a circle of people you can talk to. It wasn’t really something I took into practice until the end of last year and it is only now, as I start counselling again, that I realise just how important it is. There are three layers to this circle; a wider circle, the middle circle and your close circle. Each circle basically represents different levels of how much they know about myself and my mental health & also how much they… View Post

It’s Good to be Alive – European Magic with Contiki

“It’s good to be alive,” this was the song of the trip, played every morning once we got onto the coach and somehow.. I’ve played it nearly every day since I’ve been back to reality. Everyone has their reasons to travel on their own, some want to discover something new, some are running away from something and yet all I wanted to do was recover and heal myself. Recover from the negative head space I had been in, to let go of any anxiety, depression and stress that was overtaking my life. I wanted to breathe again, without the weight… View Post

Asian Clothes | Being Out Of My Comfort Zone

Over the last few years I’ve been lucky enough to be invited to a handful of Asian weddings. Asian weddings are always good fun; filled with great food, amazing decorations and stunning outfits. I like to think I’ve attended my fair share of Asian weddings considering I’m an outsider – an outsider being a Catholic Filipino girl, however dating someone of an Asian origin. But sometimes the hardest part about these weddings is being the ‘outsider’. Every single Asian wedding I have attended, are the wedding’s of K’s closest friends. They have always made me feel welcomed, made sure I’m… View Post

What Depression Felt Like To Me

Guess the best way to do this is to nip it in the bud. I have been suffering from depression for the last 4 months ‘medically’. But from what I have learnt over the past few months, is that I have probably been suffering from depression for the last 4-5 years and blaming it on ‘my personality’.

HEALTH: High Blood Pressure: Prehypertension

I’ve been thinking about this blog post for a while…always questioning whether it is a good idea, whether it is acceptable and whether it would make a difference. Yeah – you got that right. Over thinking a topic for a damn blog post. I’ve never really been honest with my friends when it comes to what has been going on with my health lately.. I was always telling people half the story and never really giving them the real picture of what was actually happening. It was a given that my family and K knew what was going on but… View Post

Race for Life, Hyde Park 10km 2015

The day has finally fallen upon us, where I ran the 10km Race for Life in Hyde Park, London. After months of training and practicing, building up my stamina and ability to run a distance, it has all paid off! a big yay for hard work! I decided to run my race for life for my Auntie Cely, Auntie Marina and Grandma Seher. In what has been a miserable morning full of rain, has turned into a beautiful July summers day complete with an army of women in pink t-shirts, who took over Hyde Park from 9am as the run… View Post

Race for Life – Hyde Park 10KM.

“Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.” – Cancer Research UK I’m running to show my support for Cancer Research UK because its about time we kicked cancer’s butt! On Sunday 19th July 2015, I will be running the Race for Life: Hyde Park 10km.  I joined Race for Life a few months ago, and have made slow progress… Running at the gym is a lot easier because its better on my asthma… hence 5km in 42mins (yeah okay, fine I’ll aim for 10km next. baby steps baby steps.) But I’ve also progressed to… View Post
